Card of the Day: 2007 Topps '52 Aaron Laffey

Collector's have taken note of Cleveland's fill-in pitcher.

Aaron Laffey has been used in a replacement role all season covering for the injured Jake Westbrook and now Fausto Carmona, but the staggering numbers he has put up have collectors seeking the few cards he has out.

Despite a 2-3 record, Laffey has just a 1.60 ERA over five starts and has walked just six batters.

In his three losses, the Indians offense has only put up an average of one run per game while he only allowed 3.3 runs in those games.

At the rate Laffey is pitching, Paul Byrd may find himself in trouble. His 2-4 record and 4.10 ERA put him on the hot seat in the rotation

Or, the Indians could choose to form a six-man rotation.

But, I also wouldn't be surprised to see the Indians put Laffey into some kind of midseason trade to acquire another bat.

Nevertheless, Laffey has some kind if potential from what he has shown this season and at the end of last season. Right now may just be one of the best times to buy as he isn't too well known across the big leagues yet.
