Card of the Day: 2008 Finest Rookie Redemption 2 Jay Bruce Autograph

After a Cincinnati Red's rookie picther started the season off strong, Topps announced that the first rookie redemption in Finest would be Johnny Ceuto.

However, he has gone downhill since his first couple of starts making the selection look a little weaker now considering the great performances of rookies like Geovany Soto, Evan Longoria and Kosuke Fukudome.

Nevertheless, those stars have been ignored for the time being as another fantastic debut of a Reds player has prompted Topps to announce the second rookie redemption.

Just one day after Jay Bruce made his Major League debut with three hits, two runs, two RBI, a double and a stolen base, Topps announced that he would be the second rookie redemption and that his card would be a certified autograph.

Before the announcement, the redemption cards were selling for around $20 or so with one selling for as low as $1.25 on eBay at one point. Now, they are selling for around $100 each.

This just proves the risk that you take when selling or buying redemption cards. For the sellers of Redemption #2, they lost about $80, but the buyers have the world to gain if Bruce turns out to be the superstar he is expected to become.

With Finest, you are sure to get a star in the making for at least one season because these cards are released as rookies make an impact in the game.

Topps hasn't released a Fukudome yet which makes me wonder if his card will be autographed as well. This will be my first ever baseball card prediction.
