Just like we had in March when the first mysterious and controversial Hillary Clinton Upper Deck Presidential Predictor card emerged.
Now, with the release of Upper Deck Series Two, we are having some deja-vu.
Naturally, Upper Deck produced both cards of Barack Obama as the Democratic winner and Hillary Clinton as the Democratic winner. However, you would think they could figure out which one had the best shot at winning before packaging up Series Two packs and boxes.
Well, it appears they wanted a little extra publicity and PR.
An unknown amount of the Clinton card have been released into packs of Upper Deck Series Two after most were removed during a hand-removal.
“We had the version of Obama lifting Clinton pulled as it became clear Barack would be the victor,” said Jason Masherah, Baseball Brand manager for Upper Deck in a statement. “Pulling these cards is a process done by hand so it is very possible some of these cards may make their way into packs. Those cards are considered an error version.”
I will be tracking these cards as they appear on eBay when they first hit the auction site.
