Card of the Day: 2006 Topps Tampa Bay Rays

Who would've thought it? The Tampa Bay Rays in first place in May.

After out dueling Mariano Rivera in the 11th inning last night and winning their sixth straight game, the Rays find themselves on top of the AL East ahead of juggernauts Boston and New York.

This is the first time the Rays have been atop the standings after the first week of the season and the first time they have a team that might actually stay there.

The Rays are loaded with young players you should stockpile now. B.J. Upton, Evan Longoria, Scott Kazmir, Carl Crawford, Jamie Shields, Akinori Iwamura, and Ben Zobrist are all players you might want to take a look at in case the Rays make a magically playoff run like the 2006 Tigers.
