NFL Draft Affects Trading Cards
With pre-draft cards coming out, one can't possibly know where the middle-of-the-line players will get drafted.
Did anyone really see Devin Thomas falling to the second round or DeSean Jackson being the sixth wide receiver taken? I certainly didn't, and now that it has happened, they may see a drop in card value.
The same situation applies to Brian Brohm and Chad Henne. These two are now going to be like Drew Stanton and Kevin Kolb of last season.
But because people expected these players to be taken higher, their cards were selling for a lot. With their draft stock drop, these values may do the same making for some unhappy collectors.
Cards don't usually come out before the draft so it was a new territory for collectors. If this trend continues then collectors may better understand how to buy in the next few years.
